Our Vision
Preserving History. Making History.
We believe that regeneration means celebrating the ingenuity of the past and combining it with fresh thinking and dynamic new techniques. Counting House does just that. This iconic regeneration project has sustainability at its core, proudly celebrating Cork’s rich history and providing an innovative, reimagined space for future generations to flourish.
This carefully crafted regeneration project was made possible by the collaboration of some of the leading industry experts. With respect for the past and a vision for the future, The Counting House is a truly unique concept where working, cultural and retail space are perfectly aligned.
As a LEED certified building, The Counting House has been built to benefit both the people and the planet at every touchpoint. The integrity of the old building has been carefully preserved alongside the addition of new features that optimise resource usage and building efficiencies.
A rich space
The building offers a mix of bar, restaurant, office and cultural spaces. Each has its own distinct function, while retaining the integrity of a single cohesive space. There are also many additional benefits including secure bicycle parking, storage and changing areas, all essential for an urban location.
Counting House was originally part of the old Beamish & Crawford Brewery. Specialists, JCA Architects, have carefully preserved the integrity of the old building, keeping many of its original features. In fact the building’s centrepiece will be a craft brewery, located on the ground floor, which will pay homage to this its glorious brewing past.
The upper floors will offer 70,000 square feet of brilliantly designed office space, creating highly productive and engaging work environments, built to the highest specification and fitted with the latest technology. These spaces have been designed to make the most of Cork’s iconic cityscape with exceptional views, from St Finbarr’s Cathedral to the famous Shandon Bells.
